DARRS Expandability Offers Operational Flexibility

The DARRS chassis holds 15 DART 8 (8 input/output lines) cards and provides 120 (individual recording) channels. The DART server records all the compressed audio files onto a hard drive.

The DART 1 desktop unit receives compressed audio files, decompresses them, then performs the digital to analog conversion.

Does each playback position require a workstation or a separate PC for access?  NO -- DARRS is accessed by your own host computer application. No additional workstations are required.
Can I eliminate our labor intensive cassette tape library system? YES -- A single 2 GB QIC tape can store 600 hours of audio as opposed to 60 minutes on standard cassette tape.
Will DARRS interface with my database?  YES -- Since DARRS acts as a peripheral to your current system, interfacing is simple and straightforward. 
Are special terminals needed to access customer files?  NO -- Digital audio files are easily accessible from any dumb terminal or workstation on a LAN. Each file is converted to analog for listening by the DART 1. 
Is separate analog audio speaker cable needed to serve each playback position?  NO -- DARRS sends compressed audio files over a local or wide area network. 
Will I have long-term, on-line access to specific archived audio recordings?  YES -- DARRS assigns a discrete file name to each audio conversation. Users simply call up the customer screen and the host computer system issues a play command to the DARRS system. A file index system indicates the location of off-line conversation. 
Do I have to retain employees?  NO -- DARRS interfaces with your own system so completely no training is required. 
Will DARRS work with my wide area network?  YES -- You can record at one location, then immediately listen, verify and archive the information at another.
